image

World Naked Bike Ride organizers want you to strip down and mount up.

The naked bike ride with a cause will pedal its way through the French Quarter Saturday, June 12. This will be the 13th year riders strip down and ride in the streets of New Orleans.

Organizers say riders should gather in Markey Park, at 3301 Royal Street at 4 p.m. Typically NOPD does not interfere with such events.

Riders are encouraged to "as bare as you dare" or bare what they are comfortable with stripping off.

The World Naked Bike Ride NOLA organizers say, “Our mission is to take to the streets riding nude as the best way of defending our dignity as humans on bikes. We expose just how vulnerable we are as cyclists on our own city streets.”

All are welcomed to attend the free event including, skateboarders, rollerbladers, and joggers according to organizers. Bodypaint and costumes are welcomed. The World Naked Bike Ride hosts the event in cities across the country including in New Orleans.
