St. Tammany Parish says the heat wave caused a section of Holiday Square Boulevard to explode.
St. Tammany Parish social media showed pictures of the damaged roadway, and of parish crews repairing the damage.
"The good news is the heat is no match for our dedicated and hardworking Public Works crews, who quickly responded and put down a temporary fix, until the permanent replacement is scheduled," said officials.
