Jazz Fest producers make some last-minute changes to this weekend’s music lineup.
As The Times-Picayune reports, Willie Nelson has canceled his show at The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. He was scheduled to take the Shell Gentilly Stage on Sunday.
Nelson canceled the show and postponed other scheduled shows on his tour after “a positive COVID case in the Willie Nelson Family Band” said Nelson’s representatives in a statement. A replacement for Nelson has not been announced.
Melissa Etheridge also dropped out of the lineup at the last minute. She was scheduled to perform at Jazz Fest on Saturday. Jazz Fest organizers did not say why Etheridge canceled but Mavis Staples will fill in her place on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the Blues Tent.
