The Krewe of Argus has informed all riders that there will be no parades in Jefferson Parish on Tuesday for Mardi Gras Day.

"Jefferson Parish has informed us that they are canceling all parades on Mardi Gras Day. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and is based on unsafe weather conditions."

The krewe says they may parade at a later date instead.

"There is a threat of high winds with gusts up to 50 miles per hour. We are working hard on finding an alternative and/or a date to reschedule the parade."

WWL TV Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford says, "Mardi Gras Day looks like a warm and windy one this year with our next strong weather system moving in late in the day. A high wind watch is out all day Mardi Gras for sustained southeast winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph."

This is a developing story. More information is coming soon.
