Cops are looking for a pair of suspects after a chase in Metairie.
"The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deputy involved shooting," Detective Brandon Veal said in a news release.
He says it started just after 10:00pm.
"Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of N. Arnoult and S. I-10 Service Rd. The driver refused to stop and fled from the deputies."
Veal says the fleeing driver crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Manson Ave. and S. I-10 Service Rd.
"Two suspects, the driver and a passenger, exited the vehicle armed with handguns. A responding deputy perceived a threat and fired his service weapon at one of the suspects, and the suspects fled on foot."
The detective says the vehicle was reported stolen out of New Orleans. One firearm was recovered on the scene that was also reported stolen.
"Our investigators believe that the suspect the deputy fired at was injured during the incident. It is unknown if his injury would have been sustained from the vehicle crash or gunfire."
