the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an in-custody death that occurred Saturday morning at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
At around 1:15 a.m., deputies say they saw a woman slouched over and, upon further observation, found she was unresponsive.
Life-saving measures were administered by on-site medical personnel and responding emergency medical services. However the woman was pronounced dead at around 1:30am.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death. There is no further information available for release.
