A Terrytown pastor and registered sex offender is jail after Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies say he raped two teenaged boys.
According to investigators, Terry Reed, who ran Vessels of Christ Ministry out of his home, coerced a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old to sleep with him in the nude and to engage in sexual acts with him. Investigators say Reed told the teens that the sexual acts would give the teens "the covering of Jesus" and would "help them become a man."
According to our partners at NOLA.com, Reed ran was arrested on June 29 and arrested a second time last week after the second victim came forward. Reed is now facing five counts of third-degree rape, four counts of indecent behavior, and four counts of sexual battery.
According to the Louisiana Sex Offender Registry, Reed, 63, was convicted in 1997 and in 2014 of indecent behavior with juveniles. He was also convicted of child molestation in connection with the 2014 case.
