A man who alleged kidnapped a woman is now in custody after Washington Parish sheriff’s deputies say the victim fought off the suspect and called authorities.
Local and state authorities arrested James Ballard in Bogue Chitto State Park on Monday after finding him lying in a ditch. Deputies took Ballard into custody without incident.
Investigators say Ballard kidnapped a woman in Tangipahoa Parish and brought her to the park. Sheriff Randy Seal says the woman fought back and escaped from Ballard. The woman then called authorities, who found her safe.
Ballard will face charges in Tangipahoa Parish
