Rain is in the forecast today through Saturday with heavy downpours at times.
So just how much of this rain do we have to put up with?
"There is some concern for some flash flooding," said Megan Williams, forecaster with the National Weather Service.
Williams says as much as two to four inches of rain could fall, and it could be intense at some times.
"It should be pretty steady rainfall, kind of like we've been seeing over the last week, but there could be areas where the rain's a little bit higher for 30 minutes at a time," she said.
The city of New Orleans isn't taking chances -- it has lifted parking restrictions so drivers can park their cars on the neutral ground if that will help them avoid curbside flooding.
On the bright side, all this rain will help with the near-drought conditions the region has been dealing with.
"It definitely should help improve some of those conditions, especially looking at the totals that we're expecting," said Williams.
