The Tangipahoa River has already crested, and about two-and-a-half feet lower than predicted.

"The forecast that we were so concerned about yesterday, the river gauge at Robert going up to 21 feet, it had built into that forecast that we were supposed to get the 10 to 15 inches of rain that most everybody else got, and fortunate for us, we did not get that," said Tangipahoa Parish emergency management director Dawson Primes.

"It crested at 18'4" and it's been steadily dropping," said Primes.

Primes said that made their weekend a whole lot better, because the previous forecast predicted flooded homes along Hwy. 445, and a crest that would not peak until Monday morning.

Primes said their rainfall average through the whole event was around one-and-a-half to two inches, far less than what the south shore and St. Tammany Parish and some Mississippi coastal counties received.

In St. Tammany Parish, the Bogue Falaya crested between 11 and 12 feet, and has already fallen to minor flood stage.
