Louisiana Allstate customers to see car insurance rates fall

Lower auto-insurance premiums! State Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple has approved Allstate North American Insurance Co.’s filing for a 7.6% rate decrease for its nearly 11,000 personal auto policyholders in Louisiana. The change takes effect on Jan. 8. Temple also approved Encompass Insurance Company of America’s National General program filing for a 15% reduction, effective Dec. 8.

Bidding to reduce prices on certain agricultural goods, the U.S. plans to eliminate tariffs on bananas, coffee, beef and certain apparel and textile products under framework agreements with four Latin American nations. The move is part of a shift from the Trump administration to water down some of its so-called reciprocal tariffs in the midst of rising prices for consumers.

Wall Street futures are pointing to a slightly lower open after a rough day on Thursday.  Meanwhile, oil futures are sharply higher this morning.
