Over the course of five days assisting NOPD during the Crescent City's Mardi Gras festivities, Louisiana State Police seized 24 guns and made 44 arrests.
LSP says all weapons seized were because of illegal possession violations.
The state police also completed over 1,000 public assists and responded to 167 calls for service.
No official crime statistics from the NOPD have been released for the five-day stretch that culminated in Fat Tuesday.
