The New Orleans Saints host their regular-season home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. If you didn't go to the Saints lone preseason home game or the LSU/Florida State game, be prepared for changes caused by the renovation work going on at the stadium.

According to Saints chief operating officer Ben Hales, the biggest change involves where you'll have your ticket scanned.

"A key difference this year is that you have to be ticketed to enter Champions Square," Hales said on WWL's SAINTS HOUR.  "In order for us to get people in and have really free-flowing gates, once you are inside that perimeter, you'll be able to go inside and out of the dome gates wherever you want as often as you want. That's really important because we've put a lot of additional amenities on that exterior plaza concourse for some things that were lost as part of the renovation this year."

According to Hales, those amenities include bathrooms and concession spaces. Hales also says fans will need to use the exterior plaza to move around the stadium.

"If you used to go into Gate A and then walk all the way around to Gate C to get to your seat, we're going to ask you to do that outside now instead of inside," Hales said, noting that the narrow concourses are as narrow as 12 feet in some spots because of the ongoing construction.
