A 34-year-old Chauvin man faces charges for sex crimes involving a victim under the age of six, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's office announced Thursday.
Investigators say they conducted an extensive investigation into James Paul Naquin after learning of allegations that he committed "sexually motivated crimes." According to the sheriff's office, the victim presented evidence that this abuse happened on several occasions.
Deputies arrested Naquin, and authorities say he admitted to the abuse under questioning form detectives.
Naquin was booked on charges of molesting a juvenile under 13 year of age, and first degree rape.
The sheriff's office says Naquin was ordered held on a $1 million bond.
