Mandeville Police say Richard Suarez is the man seen in a video knocking another man unconscious in a parking lot after ranting at a motorist.

Video obtained by WWL-TV shows the man angrily shouting at a woman in a silver truck a parking lot at 3434 Hwy. 190. Bystanders attempt to calm him down to no effect, and he curses back at them.
At one point an older man steps up and begins arguing with the belligerent individual. They both disappear just outside of the camera’s view, and a second later the older man is seen slamming into the ground. An eyewitness told WWL-TV that she saw the younger man punch the older man.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.
According to WWL-TV, Suarez showed up at the veterans hospital to check himself in for unknown reasons, and was arrested. He faces charges of second degree battery, simple assault, and disturbing the peace.
