Investigators with the New Orleans Police Department say they’ve arrested 28-year-old Carlos Brown in connection with an Algiers fatal shooting that also injured an infant child.
“At about 1:43 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the intersection of Kabel and General De Gaulle drives,” said NOPD. “Upon arrival, officers found a male victim inside of a vehicle in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Kabel Drive and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.”
Police say the infant female victim sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound to the leg, while the adult female was not injured.
Investigators determined Brown is allegedly also responsible for a second shooting the same day, this time in the 1600 block of Southlawn Boulevard.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to a local hospital via EMS,” said investigators.
Investigators say the two incidents are connected and that the victims knew Brown.
Brown was arrested and booked today into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for second-degree murder, domestic abuse child endangerment and two counts of simple assault.
Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to call NOPD Homicide Det. Lucretia Gantner at 504-658-5300.
