The New Orleans Police Department made quick work of finding and arresting a man they say is responsible for a fatal stabbing in Treme on Wednesday.
It happened on May 5, in the 1100 block of Marais Street. One person was killed.
An NOPD report says, “At about 5:30 p.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of a stabbing at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim inside of a residence and having sustained a stab wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.”
During the investigation, the NOPD says detectives were informed of a subject in the nearby area matching a description of the perpetrator.
The subject, identified as 38-year-old William E. Reese Jr., was detained for questioning. Police say detectives determined Reese to be the perpetrator in the stabbing.
