A man is in custody after a standoff in the Hale Boggs federal building in downtown New Orleans.
Police said the man reportedly threw items from an eighth floor window and a file cabinet was reported on the sidewalk below.
New Orleans Police identified the man as 34-year-old Dwight Ambrus.
"Officers located Armbrus contained inside the office and made entry," said police "During the encounter, he refused repeated commands to drop an object he was holding. Officers subsequently deployed a Taser and safely took him into custody."
Police said they would book Ambrus on a charge of simple criminal damage to property, after his release from the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The case is still under investigation.
