Cops say a man crashed his vehicle in a tree, and died in Metairie.
"Just before 10:30 pm, deputies responded to the intersection of Clearview Parkway and Jasper Street after a truck left the roadway and struck a tree," Captain Jason Rivarde said in an email. "It appears to be a single-vehicle crash."
He says the driver from Kenner died at the hospital.
"The initial investigation shows that the truck was northbound on Clearview Parkway when the driver lost control and left the roadway. The truck struck the tree and came to rest. The cause of the crash is undetermined at this time."
Rivarde says that toxicology testing will be performed as part of the autopsy of the driver.
