Cops were called the Central City neighborhood in New Orleans just after 4:00 this morning.
"New Orleans Police are investigating a murder by shooting," Sgt. Barry Fletcher said in an email. "According to investigators, police were called to the 3200 block of Loyola Avenue."
He says there were reports of gunfire.
"Responding officers found a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. New Orleans EMS confirmed the victim was deceased."
Fletcher did not release any information about suspects or a motive for the murder.
