New Orleans Police say they are investigating a shooting that happened early this morning.
"First District officers responded to a report if a shooting in the 1500 block of North Derbigny Street shortly before 2:40 a.m.," Sgt. Barry Fletcher wrote in an email. "New Orleans EMS transported the victim to hospital."
Witnesses say a man was shot multiple times and found inside of an SUV.
"No further information is currently available."
Fletcher did not share the victim's condition, nor say anything about suspects.
