A Metairie man is now facing charges in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that happened in March.
According to state troopers, investigators identified Warren Long, 58, as the driver of an SUV that struck and killed Jason Galaforo. Troopers arrested Long and booked him into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on a felony hit-and-run charge.
Troopers say the crash happened around 10 p.m. on March 17. According to investigators, Galaforo, 43, of Jefferson, was walking along US 90 near Central Avenue when an SUV struck him. That SUV never stopped. An EMS crew took Galaforo to the hospital, where he later died at the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
If convicted, Long faces 10 years in prison.
