Forecasters at the National Weather Service office for New Orleans say skies will be mostly cloudy between 12:30pm and 1:49pm as the solar eclipse begins and hits its peak in Southeast Louisiana.
"A partial view could still be possible," according to the NWS. "The Solar Eclipse Forecast for Monday, April 8th is looking mostly cloudy across the area with a few isolated showers and storms mainly north and west of Baton Rouge.
Temperatures will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
"Remember Safety: It is never safe to look directly at the Sun with out specialized eye protection designed for solar viewing."
WWL TV Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford we may get some views of Monday's partial solar eclipse during breaks in the clouds.

"The maximum for us will be just over 80 percent obscuration which will happen at 1:49 p.m. A few stray showers may pop up on Monday although most of us will stay dry."
