The mother of a Holy Cross student is calling on the administration of the school to do more after her son was called a racial slur in his chemistry class.
Whitney Antoine says her son has not been the same since the alleged incident and has continued to be the target of harassment.
She says the act was intentional and the consequences weren't enough after she later learned that the student received as a consequence what amounted to a one day suspension.
The school responded to our partners at WWL-TV via a statement saying:
“We are saddened a student matter is being made public. Holy Cross is not permitted to and will not disclose information regarding student matters. A pillar of Holy Cross is to teach our students to always maintain a high level of respect for one another, and Holy Cross has a disciplinary policy to address students who fall short of this. This matter was handled in accordance with our disciplinary policy. We have no further comment.”
