The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Fifth District.
Around 3:39 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a call reporting shots fired near the intersection of North Villere and Benton Streets.
Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim suffering from an undetermined number of gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
