If you have any unpaid parking tickets, red light camera tickets, library fines, or even overdue sales or hotel/motel taxes in New Orleans, now's your chance to clear them off the books without paying late fees. The city has announced an amnesty period that begins October 1 and lasts through December 31.
"This program will provide much needed assistance to eligible residents who have been impacted by the ongoing pandemic and have been unable to settle pass due accounts," the city said in its news release. "Additionally, the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) will waive certain late fees for eligible residential customers wishing to reduce – and ultimately eliminate – their delinquent SWBNO bills."
