As of today, New Orleans is doing away with pandemic capacity limits, but keeping the mask mandate, and urging people to go get vaccinated.
New Orleans restaurants and other businesses no longer have to limit themselves to 75 percent. But social distance needs to be maintained, and masks need to stay on.
"Masks are simple, masks are effective, they are easy, and they protect not only the wearer, they protect the entire community," said New Orleans Health Department Director Dr. Jennifer Avegno. says it will take more people getting their COVID shots before the city is comfortable lifting the mask order.

"Vaccines are free," she said. "They are available in neighborhoods all over the city. They are available on every day of the week, and at different times of the day, and we have free rides to get you there."
