New Orleans Police say a worker at a local restaurant called 911 to report a body in the lake.
"A waitress was on break when she noticed a body floating in the water," according to an initial police report.
It happened near the New Canal Lighthouse.
"NOEMS arrived at the location and pronounced the decedent expired."
He is only described in the report as an "Uknown White Male."
The body was found just before 1:00pm on Friday afternoon.
