New Orleans Police officers arrested five suspects in connection with a deadly mass shooting that happened outside a Warehouse District nightclub two years ago.
Eleven people were injured and 24-year-old Jezreel Poleate was killed in the drive-by shooting the night of April 14, 2024.
Police say the gunman were targeting individuals who were part of a crowd waiting to get into Republic NOLA in the 800 block of South Peters Street.
Detectives spent 26 months investigating, with help from the FBI, Louisiana State Police, and other law enforcement agencies.
"Through an extensive investigation that included the collection and review of video evidence, dozens of search warrants, the collection and review of digital and forensic data, interviews, covert surveillance and other investigatory methods, NOPD Homicide Section Det. Donald Willyard and other assisting investigators identified and obtained arrest warrants for five suspects in this incident," said NOPD.
Four suspects were taken into custody in three parishes. A fifth was already in jail on unrelated charges.
