A 16-year-old is recovering from a bullet wound after police say he broke into a man's car.
An initial NOPD report says a man was walking to his car, when he noticed the passenger door was open.
"Two suspects exited out of the victim's vehicle, with one suspect pointing a gun at the victim."
Investigators say the vehicle owner also was armed.
"The victim in response pulled out his firearm and shot at the suspects, striking one suspect in the buttock."
Police say the juveniles ran.
"Both suspects fled the location and were later apprehended. One suspect was transported to local hospital to be treated for his injuries."
It happened shortly before 2:00am in the 6300 block of Morrison Road.
