New Orleans Police are looking for a killer after overnight gunfire left a man dead and a woman wounded.
"The NOPD is currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the 4000 block of Tulane Ave," Senior Police Officer Jonathan Morris said in an email.
It happened near the corner of Tulane and Carrollton just after midnight.
"NOPD Officers arrived on scene and located a male who was shot. EMS transported the male to a local hospital."
Morris says the man died a short time later.
"A female victim who was also shot arrived at the hospital via private conveyance."
There was no word on her condition.
