The organizers of the annual VooDoo Festival at New Orleans City Park today announced the festival will wait until 2022 to return from the pandemic.
The annual music and art celebration normally takes place over Halloween weekend in New Orleans.
Festival leaders say they will "take a pause in 2021."
They indicate that with a quickly filling fall events calendar, they are choosing to wait another year.
Jazz Fest and French Quarter Fest previously announced plans to move forward with October festivals.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell has yet to approve any festivals for the fall. Her office has indicated that police staffing shortages could prevent such events. The Cantrell administration has also said that vaccination rates must continue to climb before they will approve festival permits.
