NOPD: 1 dead in 7th Ward shooting

The New Orleans Police department investigate a fatal shooting in the 7th Ward.

Police say the shooting happened at about 10:22 p.m. Sunday night in the 2300 block of Annette Street.


Responding officer found a man lying in the street with at least one gunshot wound. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once an autopsy is completed and family is notified.

This shooting comes as four people were shot that Sunday evening in New Orleans East. One person died in that incident. On Saturday police work quadruple shooting which also left one person dead. Saturday’s shooting also happened in New Orleans East on Clover Street near the intersection with Franklin Avenue.
