The New Orleans Police SWAT team is in the 5100 block of Montegut Dr. in Gentilly Woods.
NOPD says a suspect is barricaded in a residence there, but no further details were made available.
Notification of the standoff came shortly before 12:30 p.m.
People are asked to keep clear of that area.
