Police in New Orleans investigate an early morning homicide on Canal Street, not far from University Medical Center.
NOPD says about 12:30 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to a call of gunshots in the 2500 block of Canal Street.
When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital by EMS where he later died from his injuries.
This is the second shooting police in New Orleans are investigating Friday morning.
Later, a separate shooting happened about 4:13 a.m. near the intersection of Toulouse and N. Carrollton Avenue. That victim, an adult male, was also shot and taken to the hospital by EMS. The man’s condition is unknown at this time.
