Detectives with the New Orleans Police Department are busy investigating a series of shootings that happened over the weekend.
In all, five separate shootings injuring five people happened since Saturday.
The first shooting happened at around 2:00 pm on Saturday in the 1400 block of South Galvez where an adult male was shot to the abdomen.
At approximately 9:25 pm, an adult male was shot to the body at I-610 East and St. Bernard. Police say two people were arguing with two other people in another vehicle on I-610 when the shooting happened.
On Sunday, NOPD Sixth District Officers are investigating a shooting that happened at approximately 10:41 pm in the 2100 block of St. Charles Avenue.
According to an NOPD report, the female victim got into an altercation with the suspect known as “Jeffery” outside of a bar. The victim tased the suspect who then pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The woman was transported to the hospital by EMS. Her condition is unknown.
The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 3300 block of S. Saratoga St. where an adult male was shot. Police did not say when the shooting happened but reported the shooting at about 2:04 am on Monday.
And a shooting happened in the 4500 block of Marque Drive where an adult male was shot to the leg has police on the scene searching for evidence. A police report says the victim heard multiple gunshots and realized he was hit.
