New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick was on duty when she struck two pedestrians in the French Quarter Saturday night, an NOPD spokesperson says.
In an updated statement issued in Sunday, NOPD Communications Director Reese Harper says Kirkpatrick was returning home from visiting an injured NOPD officer who’s in a local hospital when the crash happened. A woman who was hospitalized after the crash has since been released. A male pedestrian who was struck refused medical treatment.
The case remains under investigation by the NOPD. Once their investigation is completed, the NOPD will turn the case over to Louisiana State Police.
