NOPD Makes Quick Arrest in Fourth District Shooting

NOPD arrested a subject in connection with double shooting that occurred in the Fourth District.

The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon around 2:30pm near the intersection of Newton and LeBoeuf.

When Fourth District officers arrived on the scene, they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle.

The accused perpetrator, later identified as 36-year-old Nathaniel Lombard, fled the scene on foot.

Officers canvassed the area and apprehended Lombard in the near LeBoeuf and Patterson, down by the river without further incident.

A short time later, officers recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the incident.

Lombard was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated second-degree battery and three counts of aggravated criminal damage to property.
