Super Bowl LIX is less than a year away and local and state leaders, while in Las Vegas for the official handoff of the event, were also able to get a little recon for the plans going forward.
Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser says during the trip to Vegas, he was able to see what they did well, where they needed to improve, and what we will need to do to avoid any of the same pitfalls.
“You were waiting two hours in traffic to get from venue to venue.”
Although there is limited time left, the Lt.
Governor says there is enough to make the necessary upgrades.
“We’ll get this city cleaned up and shinning and put on an incredible show.”
The big game will kick off in the Superdome on Feb 9th of 2025 which means the city has less than a year to prepare for the spectacle, it's crowds, and VIPs.
Nungesser says there are some priorities at the top of the list.
“The renovations to the dome will be foremost and cleanup of the city.”
He says to keep in mind this is a business of competition and we need to be willing to invest in the city in order to continue to host big events.
“A lot has to do with the response of the visitors. And there are many cities who will want to be in line for future Superbowls. So, we will have to put our best foot forward.”
