A New Orleans man pleads guilty after being accused of possession and distributing child pornography, and a Covington man is sentenced to 20 years for child pornography charges.

The Department of Justice says Michael Paul Perrilloux, 43, a resident of New Orleans, pleaded guilty Thursday, to four counts of distribution of child sexual abuse material and child pornography charges.

Perrilloux is accused of uploading digital images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children to an online, cloud-based file storage account. Agents seized numerous electronic devices belonging to Perrilloux containing such material. If convicted he could face a minimum prison sentence of five years to a maximum of 20 years.

Across the lake, in Covington, another man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for possessing and distributing child pornography.

According to the DOJ, Brandon Ward, 34, a resident of Covington, was sentenced after previously pleading guilty to a one-count Indictment charging him with the distribution of images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children, including children as young as less than one year old.

According to court documents, in October of 2019 undercover FBI agents using a mobile app known to harbor and distribute child pornography was used to find Ward who they say uploaded hundreds of digital links to images and videos of child porn.

In total, Ward uploaded at least 47,000 files to the accounts. For example, on October 31, 2019, a special agent with the FBI reviewed the contents of one of WARD’s accounts, and it contained approximately 151 files, all of which depicted the sexual victimization of children as young as less than one year old according to the DOJ.
