Lafourche parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of 33 people in a heroin drug sting codenamed; Operation Bad Boi.
The heroin investigation began in late 2020 and culminated in several searches and arrests, most of which occurred over the last two months.
Operation Bad Boi included eight search warrants of homes in South Lafourche and the seizing of more than $20,000.
“We believe this operation will have significant impact on the availability of heroin, methamphetamine, and especially fentanyl in the southern area of the parish,” said Sheriff Webre who hopes this operation sends a clear message to other drug violators. “Just because you don’t see an arrest every week doesn’t mean you’ll be able to continue to operate in this community. Our agents will continue to work to build cases and bring these violators to justice.”
