The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says a pedestrian stuck by a vehicle in a crash earlier this month has died from his injuries.
"Around 10:00 p.m. on March 15, deputies responded to the 4100 block of Veterans Blvd. after receiving multiple reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle," said Sgt. Brandon Veal with JPSO. "Upon arrival, they located a 76-year-old male in the right westbound lane suffering from crash-related injuries. Deputies also located a Toyota Sienna in the left westbound lane along with the adult female driver. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries."
The elderly man died March 23, the sheriff's office said.
"Our initial investigation indicated the driver was traveling in the westbound center lane when the pedestrian stepped out in front of her vehicle. The driver did not show any apparent signs of impairment. Toxicology results are pending," said Veal.
