Louisiana State Police say a Loranger man died after being hit by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in Tangipahoa Parish.
It happened around 5:50 a.m.
"Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on LA Hwy 445 near Gliderport Road in Tangipahoa Parish," said Trooper Marc Gremillion. "The crash ultimately claimed the life of 73-year-old Keith Guidry of Loranger."
According to Gremillion, investigators say Guidry was in a wheelchair, heading south on LA Hwy 445. For reasons still under investigation, the driver of a Ford F-350 headed north collided with Guidry in the roadway.
Gremillion says routine samples were taken from both parties for toxicology tests.
