
There will be a public remembrance for Ed Muniz, the founder of the Krewe of Endymion and former mayor of Kenner, this Friday.
Public visitation will take place in Hall C of the Pontchartrain Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with liturgy services beginning at 2 p.m. After the services, a motorcade will proceed to the Endymion Garden on Orleans Avenue at the Delgado Community College Campus. Anyone who cannot attend the visitation is invited to pay their last respects at the Endymion Garden. The motorcade is scheduled to pass the Endymion Garden at approximately 3:30 to 3:45 pm. Interment will be private.
Muniz died Sunday at the age of 83.
Muniz founded Endymion in 1966 and saw it grow into a group of more than 3,000 members.
He was also involved in Jefferson Parish politics, serving on the Jefferson Parish council and Kenner City Council.
In 2006, he was elected mayor of Kenner.
