More New Orleans residents are satisfied with the city's police department, according to the New Orleans Crime Coalition's annual survey.
But the 40 percent satisfaction rating, up from last year's 31 percent, is still well below where that number typically fell in the survey's 15-year history.
"Most year, we're in the 50s and 60s, then it started going down considerably a year or two ago," said Greg Rusovich, past chairman of the Crime Coalition. "We've still got a ways to go, but the good news is that it's trending in the right direction."

The survey found that men, Black residents, and people age 45 and older were more likely to be satisfied with the NOPD.
The poll was conducted for the Crime Coalition by Faucheux Strategies. It surveyed 800 adult New Orleans residents from May 29 - June 4 and has a margin of error of ±3.46 percent.
