Scalise trying to keep House majority, promote Trump

Congressman Steve Scalise of Metaire is on an eight-state road trip.

"House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is on the road making a major push to elect Republican candidates in must-win races in the final stretch of the election," the Scalise campaign said in a news release.


It comes as pollsters say the Democrats have a shot at taking the House majority on Tuesday.

"Leader Scalise began the week at the Trump Rally in New York's Madison Square Garden before attending events supporting Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01), Neil Parrott (MD-06), Tom Barrett (MI-07), Paul Junge (MI-08), John James (MI-10), the Michigan Republican Party, Derek Merrin (OH-09), Rob Bresnahan (PA-08), Scott Perry (PA-10), Derrick Anderson (VA-07), Derrick Van Orden (WI-03), and Brian Steil (WI-01)."

His campaign says Scalise will return to New York to support GOP candidates in key distrcits.

The goal?

"Ensuring we deliver President Trump the strongest Republican House Majority possible."

Scalise has been busy.  His camp said he has visited 153 districts in 35 states and spent 236 days on the road to try to help elect and re-elect Republican candidates.
