Some schools move to remote learning with bad weather on way

St. Tammany Parish Schools move to remote learning Friday due to the anticipated freezing cold weather coming this way.

“Due to the forecasted winter weather conditions, Friday will be a distance learning day for all STPPS schools, all activities are canceled and employees will work remotely. All students will need to log in to their Google Classroom and follow the posted instructions. Please know that distance learning attendance is mandatory,” the school system said on their website.

St. John the Baptist Parish schools are also going remote for tomorrow, with K-8th graders working independently and high school students attending class remotely.

Tangipahoa Parish Public Schools will hold remote classes Friday, as will Washington Parish Public Schools and Bogalusa City Schools.

Friday’s forecast calls for a 30% chance of light freezing rain. It will be breezy and cold with temperatures expected to dip down to 35 degrees on the south shore, 32 degrees on the north shore.
