It is a special time in the city. Super Bowl mania has taken over and it is the perfect space for New Orleans to put its best foot forward as there have never been as many eyes on the city as there are now.
State and local leadership have done everything they can to make sure everyone leaves with the impression that there is some reason for them to start planning their return or even their partnership with the Crescent City.
What they've been able to accomplish is owing to the ability to reach across party, region, and politics.
Susan Bourgeois, Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development says the unity displayed could be a beacon for the nation and the world.
"There is the philosophical application that we all came together under the same mission, and we all pulled on the same rope and look what we accomplished."
Bourgeois says this was more than agreeing to fix roads and buildings but a commitment to presenting the very best of what New Orleans and the state of Louisiana is capable.
From here is the plan to capitalize off of all the hard work by fostering relationships with the who's who that will be in town.
One way that will happen is through the Louisiana Pavilion which will highlight key elements of the state including opportunities in Tech and Development.
"It is a virtual tent city that will offer different exhibitions through the weekend that will inform all who take part on our culture, heritage, and potential."
