The New Orleans Police Department today arrested a 15-year old boy suspected in a homicide Sunday in the 7000 block of Morrison Road. Police say the teen killed a 52-year-old woman as she was delivering groceries to her parents.
Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said the juvenile suspect surrendered to NOPD, accompanied by his father.
"This arrest was the result of his father taking the responsibility," said Chief Ferguson. "When parents learned of their son committing this senseless act, he turned his son in."
Cops are looking for a second suspect.
Police say anyone who has information should call NOPD Homicide Detective Jamaane Roy at (504) 658-5300, or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP). Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
