The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting.
Officers were called to the intersection of Canal and Carondelet streets just before 11:30 last night.
There, the officers found a man and woman both suffering from gunshot wounds.
The male victim is reported to have been in a verbal altercation that escalated into gunfire. He was struck by the suspect and the woman, who was an innocent bystander, was also shot.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
